Cancellation & Reservation Policies
Non-Event Weekends (Friday & Saturday): Reservation must be cancelled by 4 p.m. the day prior to your arrival date or the first night’s room and tax will be charged.
Non-Event Weekdays (Sunday – Thursday): Reservation must be cancelled by 4 p.m. the day of arrival or the first night’s room and tax will be charged.
Minimum Stay Requirements: Many weekend stays and all special event weeks require a 2 or 3-night minimum stay. If a guest reservation is made for multiple nights over a period when a minimum night stay is in effect, the reservation will not be able to be reduced to less than the minimum stay requirement. Please call Archer House directly for details.
St. Olaf & Carleton Graduation, Parent/Homecoming/Alumni Weekends, Defeat of Jesse James Days, Labor Day, Move-in Dates and St. Olaf Christmas Fest require a first night room and tax deposit at the time of booking which is refundable up to 30 days in advance of arrival. Pre-Payment for all nights is required 30 days in advance of arrival for special event periods. Cancellation for special event dates must be made 30 days in advance to ensure full refund of the advance payment. Cancellation of rooms for special event within 30 days of arrival will result in the loss of the first nights room and tax deposit and cancellation within 7 days of arrival will result in the forfeiture of the entire stay’s deposit.
Room Rates & Tax information
All rates are for up to 2 guests per Cozy or Larger Room, 4 guests per Executive Room and up to 5 guests in our Two Room Suites. Additional guests are billed at $10 per night plus tax. A 10.375% sales and lodging tax applies to all guest room rates and packages. Air-mattresses are available in Large, Executive and Suites for $10.00 per night plus tax.
Credit Card Policy
Archer House River Inn accepts the following credit cards: American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and Diners Club. Debit cards will be charged at check-in for the total amount of the stay plus a security deposit of $30 per night and Archer House is not responsible for authorizations on Debit Cards not immediately cleared by the cardholder’s financial institution.
Check-in & Check-out Times
Check-in is 3 p.m. Check-out is 11 a.m. If you are requesting an early check-in or late check-out, please contact Archer House in advance. While we will do our best to accommodate requests, we cannot guarantee requests in advance. All guests check-outs past 1 p.m. will be assessed a minimum $50 late check-out fee.
Guest Room Guarantee
While the vast majority of the time we are able to accommodate requests for specific rooms, we do not guarantee a specific room prior to check-in. We do guarantee the room type booked or a free upgrade if unavailable. But due to potential maintenance issues and unexpected guest stay-overs, we do not guarantee specific rooms.
Children 12 years and under always stay free with an adult, when using existing bedding.
The Archer House allows one well behaved dog per room. Dogs are only allowed in Large and Executive Room types. Dogs may not be left unattended in the guest rooms and are not allowed in public areas except when coming and going with the exception of service animals. An additional pet charge of $15.00 per night will be added to the guest room rate. As with all stays, a credit card must be presented at check in and any excess cleaning or damage would be billed at check out. Please notify the Archer House in advance if you are planning to have a pet with you during your stay. There is no charge for trained service animals.
For the safety of all guests and associates, candles are not permitted in guest rooms.
Group blocks for weddings, family reunions and other special events are available on a limited basis throughout the year. Because we are a small 36-room inn, availability and drop date policies are dependent on the time of the year and the days requested. Minimum stay requirements when in place apply to group block reservations. We reserve the right to limit the number of rooms held by an individual or group. Please call the hotel and ask for a manager for more information on a specific date(s).
All 36 guest rooms and public areas are non-smoking. Violators will be assessed a $200 cleaning fee and possible eviction.
Travel Agent Commissions
Rates are available via our online reservations or by calling the hotel. As we are an independent hotel, travel agents are required to bill the hotel directly following a guest stay for commissions to be paid.
