The Archer House is a charming French Second Empire Inn strategically located along the picturesque Cannon River, between the campuses of St. Olaf and Carleton College, in the heart of historic downtown Northfield.

     For pleasure or romance... the Archer House is proud to feature 36 individually decorated rooms, two distinctive restaurants, a charming coffee café, a beauty salon, a comfortable lounge, and unique retail shops all located within the building. Our guests also enjoy many more shops, restaurants, museums, and art galleries sprinkled along Division Street.

      Homebaked cookies in a bag hung on your room door knob is just one of the personal touches we have in store for you! As you enjoy the charm and history of our beautiful hotel, modern amenities await you too. Daily, our guests enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee or tea in Bittersweet eatery & gathering place. Many rooms have whirlpool tubs, and all rooms have individual baths and cable television. For your comfort, our guest rooms are non-smoking and no pets are allowed. We highly recommend Countryside Kennel, "a place just like home" for your pet. They are conveniently located only about ten minutes from our location. The kennel offers services to pick up/ drop off your pet at the Archer House.
